Were you thrilled by the turn out of Sci-Fi movies you saw at the year 2016? Many movie pundits put it that 2016 was not a year for Sci-Fi movies and that many of them didn’t meet up to expectations.
2017 is beginning to prove it that this is a year for the Big Screens, with Sci-Fi movies flooding the cinemas as early as this January. What to expect?
Now here is a list of my most anticipated 2017 Sci-Fi movies:
Alien Covenant
Alien Covenant, is a sequel to Prometheus (2012), and will still have Ridley Scott direct it like he has always done in the Alien franchise. What happened to David the sole survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition? Well, May 19, 2017, doesn’t seem like a long time to wait for this highly anticipated movie to be released
Spider-man Homecoming
Amazingly, this is not from the amazing spider man series, but did you all catch that little fun scene of spider man in Captain America; Civil War, yes. Then the story continues from there, young peter parker returns home to aunt may after his adventure with the Avengers, but life would never be the same again for him as his spider sense always sees danger as they lock in.
Official release date July 27, 2017.
Logan
Yes, another wolverine movie, this may probably be Hugh Jackman’s last since he was almost absent in X-Men Apocalypse. One thing with the X-Men franchise, they can decide to tell stories of every mutant cast from their origin, (they almost did with The Gambit) that way you can never have enough.
Logan hits the Cinemas March 3, 2017
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2
The Guardian of the Galaxy 2 continues with Team Guardian as they unweave the mystery of Peter Quill’s bloodline. People always say it’s hard to do something sensational twice, but I think the maker of this second movie after the first in 2014 will prove them all wrong.
Initial release: 25 April 2017
The Six Billion Dollar Man
Fans of Mark Wahlberg will see him starring as Steve Austin, a military officer who becomes part of a top-secret government program after almost losing his life to a fatal accident. Using pioneering technology, he is made into the world’s first truly bionic man: better, stronger, faster. In fact, I know what you are thinking right now, Van Damme’s Universal Soldier. Well we would have to wait till its

The Dark Tower
What can make a better Stephen King adaptation? Definitely Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey playing it side by side. The movie will have Alba as a knight patrolling the alternate dimension of Mid-World and McConaughey as a vicious sorcerer hellbent on preventing our 11-year-old hero reaching the Dark Tower to save from extinction.
Initial release: 28 July 2017 (USA)
The God Particle
Among the 2017 Sci-Fi movies that would thrill you, The God Particle will definitely be one of a kind. Not only is it sci-fi, it is as well horror. directed by Julius Onah, the movie tells about a scientific experiment which has caused Earth to disappear, leaving A team of astronauts aboard a space station stranded.
Release Date: October 27, 2017.
