For a very long time, taxis have been the best bet for fast and stress-free transportation in so many parts of Nigeria. On the flip side though, it was mostly seen as some sort of luxury. In 2014, the giant ridesharing company, Uber, found its way to Nigeria with Lagos as its first city. While this was welcomed by many, it was also rejected on the grounds of high fares. Fast track to November 2016 and Taxify, another ridesharing company, also found its way to Nigeria. This doesn’t just boast of lower fares than Uber but like Uber, it also provides money-making opportunities for drivers and car owners.
If your worry is how to book rides with Taxify Nigeria and check out its much-touted cheaper rides, then we have got you covered!
BOOKING A TAXIFY NIGERIA RIDE
Whether you are new in a city you don’t know, or you are just arriving at an airport or you want to go to one, you have an emergency to run or anything else that makes you need a cab, here are simple ways to book a Taxify:
- If you have a smartphone, which you most likely do, simply head on to your OS store and download the Taxify application. It is available for both Android and your Apple devices.
- On the app, you’ll have to do an easy registration then select your preferred mode of payment, cash, card or a mobile carrier billing.
- Once this is done, you can then request a ride and confirm your location.
A driver closest to you will be notified and once he accepts your trip, information on him and his car become available to you. All that’s left is to sit back and enjoy your trip. If for whatever reason you don’t enjoy the ride, there’s an option for you to drop your feedback. Interestingly, the driver is also provided with an option on customer feedback so try and be a happy customer.
ON BECOMING A DRIVER WITH TAXIFY NIGERIA
You can also make money from driving Taxify in the different locations where it is available. The good news is that you don’t even have to drive for the whole day as you can decide on the number of hours you want to spend driving. This will afford you the opportunity to use this as some sort of your site hustle while also doing your normal job.
Here is the simple process:
- Do you have a 2003 model car or higher that is in good working condition, can sit at least 4 passengers, isn’t a salvaged car and you aren’t averse to making some cool cash with it? Then you are fit to be registered.
- Your next step will be to sign up on Taxify’s website. Then you provide details of yourself, bank account, contact etc. Once this is done, you’ll get an invite for the Taxify on-boarding process.
The on-boarding process requires you to have a vehicle license, inspection report and driver’s license. The vehicle inspection report is sent via mail after a visit to the Auto genius inspection center where your vehicle passes through a thorough inspection to ensure it can bring satisfaction to customers (all for #2000). On-boarding sessions are held at the Taxify training office located at Plot 9, Professor Gabriel Olusanya Street, Elf Bus Stop (Petrocam filling station) Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Nigeria.
A first session holds by 10 a.m. on weekdays and a second by 1 p.m. Note that a clear criminal record, some proof of insurance and tangible driving experience are also required. This also involves training and activation.
If you pull through with the process above, then the next requirement is to add your vehicle to your Taxify account. This process is quite easy as the app gives you a step by step guidance. It includes signing up and choosing your vehicle and adding the car details and valid documents to the online platform. Within a period of six hours, confirmation will be sent to you. Hurray! You are now a duly registered Taxify driver.
Ooh you also have the option of registering three or more vehicles under the fleet option. On the Taxify Drivers app, you can also switch between one car or the other by simply selecting which car is active at any time on the drop-down menu. Although this may take a bit of time to load, it is certainly a cool feature.
So now that you’re registered, don’t go rejoicing just yet. There are codes to live by in this brotherhood. These codes ensure customer satisfaction before, during and after a ride.
