It was on November 27, 1997, that Nandi Mbatha was born in Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal. She was also brought up in Newcastle by her mother, Zandile Mbatha who is said to be a teacher, and her father, Mduduzi Mbatha, wh works as a magistrate. The talented actress was brought up alongside two sisters, Pamela and Azanda Mbatha.
2. She is the only member of her family in the entertainment business
Unlike many others who get into the showbiz because of their family members, the journey of Nani was something she embarked upon because she had a passion. Hence, she is the only member of her family into entertainment. As stated, her father is a magistrate while her mother is a teacher. Her older sister, Pamella is an accountant, while the youngest member of her family, her sister, Azanda was a marketing student back in 2019.
Her family members may not be in showbiz, but she revealed that they have been very supportive of her.

The Newcastle-born actress initially left her hometown for Johannesburg where she was pursuing a degree at the University of Johannesburg. She revealed that she hated the public management and governance which she was studying because she initially wanted law, with the hopes of following in the footsteps of her father but she did not get space. After two years at Johannesburg, she called it quits and moved to study law at Unisa but later called it quits to pursue her career as an actress.

Before she landed her role of Simi in Isithembiso, Nandi Mbatha had not had anything serious in the entertainment industry. She made it known that even though she ad some advertising gigs and was into a little modeling after she left school, she had never had anything serious. More so, she was the last person to audition for the role, and luckily enough, she got it.

As indicated, even before her career as an actress took a turn for the best, Nandi first started out as a model. She has worked with different names in the fashion industry including clothing brands and hair.
She was among the stars that graced the L’Ormarins Queen’s Plate Racing Festival in 2020 at the Kenilworth Racecourse, in Cape Town. She was dressed by fashion designer, Quiteria Kekana during the event.

At the age of 12, Nandi was diagnosed with anxiety disorder. She revealed that whenever she finds herself in a stressful situation it immediately gets triggered and she would need to take Rescue Remedy pills to help calm her down. In an attempt to manage the disorder, she takes pills 3 times a week.
7. She is not related to Zamani Mbatha
The actress and Zamani did not know they shared a surname until after auditioning for their roles in Isithembiso, during which she had to kiss him. She initially thought they were from the same clan or even related in some way because of their names since in the Zulu culture, most people who share a surname are related. However, it turned out that it was not the same for them.
There have also been rumors that the two were dating but the actress came out and made it clear that they were like brother and sister.
8. She has been busy in the love department
In 2018, she started dating South African singer, songwriter, and record producer, Tellaman whose real name is Thelumusa Samuel Owen. According to her, she met him through a mutual friend and she fell for him because his calm energy helped her to manage her anxiety.
After she broke up with Tellaman, the actress was said to have gotten into yet another relationship with Mpho Mtosi after the two met by chance at the Quiteria Atelier studio. The relationship did not last long before it ended early in 2020.
The next man that she was linked to was actor and musician, Anga Makubola who is better known as NaakMusiq. They were first linked to each other in May 2020 before claims came that the relationship became toxic and they parted ways in a not-so-pleasant way, leaving Nandi homeless for a while. However, according to NaazMusiq, he did not date the actress. He stated that they got close because they were working on a project together during the Covid-19 lockdown and they hooked up. He said it was more of a situationship than a relationship. In spite of this claim, many believed that they dated because they had a matching tattoo at the time.

After her alleged relationship with NaakMuziq, Nandi was said to have moved on to a new man who she is still dating. Her new man said to be DJ Tira’s son, Junior Khathi. There is not much information about their love life together.
