Bionic technology is getting rather popular of late. From the bionic hand, which is meant for people who have lost their hands, to the bionic legs, now there is the Bionic suite for those paralyzed.
Designed to join the large market of machine-aided mobility devices, it serves to provide all the necessary feelings you get with your real body.
The suit which is from Ekso Bionics has three levels of operation to assist mobility-challenged individuals. The first level sees a physical therapist actuates each step by pushing a button. The second has to do with the patient controlling the button and trying to walk without help, and the robotic assistance of the suit is actuated when the user shifts weight with no buttons needed, at the third level.
Although it is basically a wearable robot, bionic suit feels natural without any feel of being robotic and it is referred to as “human exoskeleton.”
Before now, human exoskeletons have remained popular in movies. Things have however now changed with Ekso helping a paralyzed skier walk again with the help of a 3D-printed exoskeleton, and the FDA clearing the ReWalk exoskeleton, which enables paraplegics to walk again.
This amazing technology has already given back lives to many more people, including a dancer who had lost her foot in the Boston City bombing. This was made possible after a company known as Biom created a bionic ankle for her.

A great and unexpected benefit the suit comes with for users is that it properly distributes weight, hence you don’t get the lightheadedness that often comes when one put in an upright position, as the mechanized suit helped raise, lower, and provide support.
More so, this does not only provide support for people with partial paralysis, as it helps people with paralysis even from the neck down. And it provides complete help in that you do get to walk correctly without any help.
