Because the computer has taken over almost everything about humans, there is an attempt by a company, Eternime to make sure that you remain virtually immortal.
Instead of people consulting spirits and spiritualists after the dead of their loved ones which can cause them much sadness, the idea behind the project is to provide comfort to people by keeping the dead alive.
That is even to the point of chatting with relatives and friends. Creepy?

Founded by MIT fellow Marius Ursache, Eternime wants to make use of digital avatars and chatbots after drawing inspiration from science fiction.
The process of this will entail Eternime accessing your social media profiles. After that, the startup’s algorithms will scrape your posts and interactions to build another profile based on that.
Seeing what you post online as well as your pictures, they would learn how to be “you.” This is what will give birth to a digital copy of you which is immortal.
According to Urasche, the idea of his zeroes-and-ones reproductions, which he calls “immortal avatars is not new. He said it is these avatars that would eventually interact with your loved ones via Eternime’s mobile apps.
Moreover, Urasche stated that since Brain downloading, robot clones, and connecting with the dead, have long been an oddly interesting idea, the ability to transfer someone’s mind on a computer may solve big riddles and allow man meet what has always been a dream and nightmare of humans come true.
It was in 2014 that Eternime was announced after Ursache developed the idea during the MIT Entrepreneurship Development Program.
Before deciding on if he should develop the project further for throw it with the trash, Ursache decided to tap into the feelings and opinions of people. In the first four days, 3,000 people signed up at Eterni.me, the company’s website, for a private beta.
More to that was the fact that Ursache received an email from a man dying of terminal cancer. The letter stated that Eternime was the man’s last chance to leave something behind for friends and family. That was one of the strongest things that propelled the ardent continuation of the program, if you can call it that.
Even though Eternime got some positive reaction, it as well got some negative attention when it was announced. While some people waved it off as some careless hoax, others said it was creepy, and others went as far as threatening the life of Ursache as a result of this.
With the reaction gotten in 2014, the Eternime website went silent. Nevertheless, the site still continued to get together names of people who want to test the service. Another thing the Eternime team spent the last three years doing was to refine the process, testing features, figuring out what will work and what won’t. The private beta test is ongoing, and Ursache says the feedback has been positive.
Ursache insisted that what he is into is to create a digital legacy that allows generations to meet and coming ones. As such, he stated that his idea is not to cross the line between the living and the dead.

On their site, they stated that they want to preserve “the memories, ideas, creations and stories of billions of people.Think of it like a library that has people instead of books, or an interactive history of the current and future generations.”
At the moment over 35,000 people have registered to be part of the program which aim is to keep you virtually immortal. More so, the site is opened to people who may want to register or sign up for it. It is stated there that each week it allows in a few people.
