How to Fix Tritton Headset
1. Check game console or computer settings
One of the most common issues you can get with Tritton headset may most likely not even come from the headset itself but from the settings on either your gaming PC or gaming console.
To ensure that everything is set rightly, most especially the DTS. Check the game console or computer system settings to ensure that the DTS option is disabled completely. If it is selected the game will not play audio. DTS (digital theater sound) is a multichannel digital technology that focuses on the sound surround format used in both consumer and commercial applications and is used for theatrical purposes.
2. Examine cords carefully
Apart from the setting, the cords are things that one may easily take for granted even though they can stop you from listening to what you want to.
The headphones have a whole of cords that connect each stream of the headset together. Check the cords thoroughly to make sure they are not bent over or twisted. If they are bent or twisted, make sure they are straightened up to avoid breaking. There is also connector pins in each of the headphone’s output, check them and make sure they are not bent or broken.
3. Ensure there is power
Check each of the cords on the headphones to their corresponding inputs. Unplug all connectors and plug them back in again. Make sure that the headsets are connected to an AC adapter or the USB port on the game console so that they get power supply.
4. Check volume control and rate
Check the chat volume control on the headset. Though it depends on what model you are using, it could be on the cord connecting the headset to the console or on the adjustment box. And ensure that both chat volume and game volume control are turned up to enable you to hear properly.
5. Use AC – USB Adapter
There are times you will hear some buzzing sound when playing on a game console. What you should do at this point is to either connect the headphone to your device directly using an AC – USB adapter plug or switch completely to another USB port to help eliminate the low buzzing sound.
6. Connect detachable microphones correctly
If no audio is transmitted when you speak into the microphone, it’s probably due to bad connection. To connect it properly, you must align the arrows on the microphone with the ones on the headphones. Once they are aligned together, insert the microphone into its own port and turn it clockwise to lock it up properly.
7. Ensure headphones are always dry
Avoid any liquid spilling on the headphones. In a situation where water oil spills on the headphones, you can this less technical effort by submerging the headphones completely into dry rice. Leave there but bring them out after 24 hours and blow them dry to ensure any rice particle hanging there or any tiny liquid is blown out. However, if you ever need to clean the headphones, do not use any liquid to do that. You can try using very small alcohol swabs to do that.
