Message Requests

Probably you have been on Facebook for years and all you do is go through your messages not knowing you still have some messages that Facebook has kept away from you.
Such messages are most likely from spammers, or some aggressive people who were not happy about your posts in a group, so decide to give you a piece of their angry mind.
You can check out yours by simply clicking on “Message” icon on then Select “Message request”, and finally “View filtered messages”If you are using a mobile phone, after selecting the message icon, you will need to scroll down to the end to see the message request.

To assign a legacy contact, simply go to “Settings,” then select “Security,” “Legacy Contact” tab and choose one of your Facebook friends to handle your digital affairs. You may decide to delete it there as well.

Send Money Through Facebook

You can send money through your Facebook account (as long as both the sender and recipient have a valid debit card). In addition (and probably of greater interest to Facebook), these payments will allow users to purchase products and make in-game purchases through Facebook.

While this feature is largely tied to Messenger, you can use it on regular Facebook as well. To set it up, go to Settings > Payments to enter a debit card. Once accepted, you can send (or request) funds to/from another user via Messenger.

To use this feature on Facebook.com, just open a pop-over conversation with one of your contacts (accessible via either the “Chat” window in the bottom right-hand of your screen or through the Messenger icon in the right side of the top rail). Its new chat app allows you and five other friends to make video calls directly from your messages. Starting a group call is very easy. It works the same way as for one-to-one video calls in the app: tapping the camera icon in the top right corner while in a chat will begin the video call.

Probably you know this. You can challenge a friend to a game of Pac-Man, Words With Friends, trivia, or another interactive game by clicking on the remote control in the bottom right corner of the chat window.

You can easily do this on the new facebook messenger. Essentially, when tat chat gets boring and you still want to hook up, you can just hit the game and refresh a little.

Add Some Extra Security

It’s a good idea to throw in some additional layers of security on your Facebook account. No, you shouldn’t be worried that someone will break into your account and start “liking” BuzzFeed articles like crazy. But you should be concerned that someone could get in and use the information they find to steal your identity.

Here are two smart things you can do to protect yourself:

1) Create a log-in approval. This setting will only allow your Facebook account to be opened in a new browser after you enter a special code sent to your phone. To enable it, go to Settings > Security > Login Approvals. You’ll be sent a test code to verify your device’s authenticity.

2) Create some Trusted Contacts. Trusted Contacts are Facebook friends (you’ll need to choose between three and five) who can securely help you regain access to your account—for example, if you forget your password or lose your mobile device—OR a nefarious person breaks in and decides to lock YOU out. To enable this function, just go to Settings > Security > Trusted Contacts. And remember, you can always change your contacts later.
