– The Body
First of all, the Infinix Note 3 is sleek and slim and this is a good turn on for most smartphone users. In addition to this, the device has a large 6-inch display screen accompanied by a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. It is a big smartphone which looks like a bar.
Talking about the phone’s display screen, we can say that the phone is aptly bordered by thin black bezels. This ensures that the front of the device is given a two-toned look.
On its right side are the volume button as well as the power/lock button. Also, on its right side is a card slot for the microSD. You will also find another for two micro-SIM cards on the left. If you’re the kind of phone user who is really hungry for storage, realize that with Infinix Note 3, you get dedicated slots for the external storage card. Of course this a plus.
Infinix Note 3 is an IPS LCD panel. This refers to the fact that the device is vibrant and logically crisp at 367ppi. The coming of the Infinix Note 3 signified an upgrade in the phone’s series. This is because, at the back of the device, you will notice the use of aluminum. It should be noted that the phone has a metal back.
Right at the top of the phone, there is a 3.5mm jack for wired headphones. Music hungry users can utilize it to the utmost. At the bottom of the phone, there is the micro-USB port for charging and connectivity, the main microphone as well as 5 holes for the loudspeaker.
It should be noted that just as it is with all Infinix products, the Infinix Note 3 does not come with a Gorilla Glass protection.
At the top and bottom parts of the back of the phone, one would notice that there is a plastic to accommodate radio signals.
– Camera
With a dedicated LED flash, the Infinix Note 3 has got an impressive 5MP front-facing camera up top.
Also, right at the back of the phone, there is a 13MP rear shooter with a dual-LED flash and the square fingerprint scanner.
– Display
Like we have earlier noted above, the Infinix Note 3 comes with a massive 6-inch display screen size which of course is accompanied by a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution. At first glance, once captivating things about the device is it’s amazing viewing angles and good colors.
– Sound
The Infinix Note 3 has a great sound that is even more pronounced when being used with an earpiece and when utilized in a quiet room.
The downside is that the sound lacks power in more noisy environments.
For gaming and videos, the device provides a good listening experience. The Infinix Note 3 has quite a weak bass but compensates for that with a decent treble.
– Software
Infinix Note 3’s software is run by the XOS v2.0.0 which is also known as Chameleon. The software is based on the Android 6 Marshmallow under Infinix Mobility’s XOS user interface.
It should be noted that the XOS user interface has a number of apps pre-installed already. This means that the device comes with some already installed apps which cannot be deleted or uninstalled. These include: XWeather, XManager, Ultra Power, XClub, XAccount and XHide.
All the applications on the Infinix Note 3 are placed on the home screen. Navigating the phone screen can be done through the on-screen buttons. However, it should be noted that the XOS user interface also uses an app drawer to bring up a vertical list of all those apps in their alphabetical order.
As for third-party apps, the device does not have much to offer except the presence of social media apps like Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and Palmchat and, of course, these can be uninstalled.
There are other apps to be seen on the phone, including, of course, apps from Infinix itself as well as from Google.
– Storage
Talking about storage, the Infinix Note 3 does not quite have a lot. The device comes with 16GB storage capacity. However, the user is left with only 10GB to use.
However, this is supplemented by the fact that the phone supports microSD cards through its dedicated slot.
– Performance
While using the Infinix Note 3 device, the performance is basically smooth most of the time. However, during heavy multitasking, the device slows down sometimes.
The animations on the device as well as UI transitions are also smooth. In addition, the fingerprint detection, as well as the app launches, are quite fast.
Also, the phone has been found out to overheat during use.
– Battery
This is perhaps one of the strongest features of the Infinix Note 3. The device comes with an amazing 4,500mAh battery capacity. The battery capacity serves its large display well and users should not be unduly worried about power draining fast.
With moderate usage and some gaming plus video playtime, the power lasts more than a whole day.
The device also comes with the ‘fast charge’ capacity built in.
The phone has been built to accommodate different power modes. Obviously, this is to maximize battery performance. The different power modes include High-performance mode, Normal mode, and Power saving mode.
In addition to this, the device also has the Ultra Power mode which helps to limits the phone to basic functions in order to further elongate the battery life.
– Connectivity
The Infinix Note 3 comes with connectivity features such as 4G LTE, dual-SIM, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS.
The phone also has the USB OTG with which you can transfer files easily.
In Conclusion
We can say that the Infinix Note 3 is without a doubt at all, a truly beautiful device. Although the Infinix Note 3 is built as a tank just as its predecessor, the Note 2, it is quite better.
The phone has beaten its predecessor by having sufficient CPU and RAM for casual and heavy users as well as a large display for multimedia consumption. It also has a good battery life decent cameras, a truly beautiful bodily design, a big, bright display as well as large internal memory plus memory card slot.
The cons though are that the loudspeaker is not very loud, there is no toughened glass protection for the screen.
