RF-Pose is the brainchild of MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. The MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory happens to be a widely reputable research institute located inside the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States of America.
The laboratory came up with the RF-POSE idea to help revolutionize the health sector by studying diseases.
RF Pose
RF-Pose is the usage of artificial intelligence to be able to see people’s bodies even through thick walls. This is achieved by using Artificial Intelligence to rapidly coach or train sensitive wireless devices to be able to sense people’s postures including their movements though solid items, even it is from the other side of a wall.
In other words, RF-Pose uses RF (radio frequency) waves to achieve the sensing of where people are then proceed to recreate their bodies as a simple stick figure.
RF-Pose Will Be Used For Healthcare
The team at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory is said to be interested in using this new innovation to cause major revolutions in healthcare. In fact, it has been revealed that the scientific team is currently working with doctors so that they can adequately explore the many applications of the innovation in healthcare.
Talking about the new development, the researchers wrote: “All data the team collected has subjects’ consent and is anonymized and encrypted to protect user privacy
“For future real-world applications, the team plans to implement a ‘consent mechanism’ in which the person who installs the device is cued to do a specific set of movements in order for it to begin to monitor the environment.” *sic: EurekAlert
The MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory has also revealed that the new innovation could be used to monitor diseases like multiple sclerosis (MS) and even Parkinson’s. By doing this, they can understand the progression of the disease better and thereby enable the doctors working on the case, to adjust medications properly
Video Games
It has also been revealed that besides just using it for healthcare, the RF-Pose could also be adapted to be used for new classes of video games where players can be allowed to move around the house.
