The entire essence of science and technology is to make life better and easier. To a large extent, that has been achieved. But just beside that, there are many inventions that have made us lazy. This is not with the way it has completely simplified our lives (that is good) but with inventions that only encourage you to do nothing entirely.
Here are inventions that have made us lazy
1. The Internet
When Tim Barnes Lee was creating the internet he didn’t know that he was ushering humanity into an era of massive laziness. What the internet has done is to make you be able to know how loved ones are doing without having to walk a little and buy all the things you need without leaving your home. More so, you can get an education without going to school, find love without going on a date, pay bills without leaving the sofa and get food without cooking or bother to go to a restaurant.
At the end of the day, there is hardly any argument that the internet is the biggest among other inventions that encourage laziness.
2. A Machine That Plays With Your Pets
This machine is designed for people that are extremely lazy that they cannot spare some little time to play with their pets. What this machine does is to keep your pet busy while you relax somewhere doing nothing.
The only thing the machine does is to keep throwing balls at your pet most especially dog, while the animal runs and picks up the ball. While it may be for lazy people, it could also come very handy when you are very busy but your pet is in the mood to play.
3. Robot Arm: Your new cook
Still being designed, this is for those that are extremely lazy when it comes to cooking. With this invention, what you have is a robot that will cook for you and all you have to do is pick your food and eat. The most interesting thing is that the robot can cook anything you want it to.
You can easily control what it does use your iPhone. All you need do is select what you need using your iPhone and it will cook it because it is designed with an inbuilt menu to follow and cook for you like a professional chef. It has 2000 meals on its menu, but if you want more, soon you will be able to download.

In case you are wondering whether it won’t mix ingredients up and have your meal overdone or half done, the robot arm is designed to serve as a professional in the kitchen.
4. Drive-Through Grocery Shopping
For those not yet lazy enough to go out and shop for their groceries, a Russian inventor is now working on something to force laziness on you. Instead of walking in the grocery store to pick the things you need, you can drive in and keep getting the needed things even without leaving your car. You need to keep pressing a button and the groceries would keep rotating. When you see what you need, you will just pick and keep moving.
5. Robots to do your house chores
There are many robots that have been designed to do everything in your house from cleaning to sweeping, and every other thing. For example, there is the iRobot Braava which is designed to do your mopping, the Grillbot to clean your grill, and the LawnBott which is able to take care of your lawn.
6. Smartphones
Smartphones may just be the most dangerous technology on the list because according to a finding, these devices don’t just make you lazy to do things, they also make you very lazy to think. The study which was carried out by researchers from the University of Waterloo revealed that “our smartphones help us find a phone number quickly, provide us with instant directions and recommend restaurants.” It is this convenience that they believe has made people not ready to think and do things as before.
7. Escalators and Lifts
Agreed, these are needed in very tall buildings, but in most other places where they are used, these are completely needless, and they only serve to give more flesh to our laziness. Because of these, people are no more willing to walk two floors up or down because the machine can easily take them there without sweating.
8. Television
This box is not only making us lazy, but it has as well made our parents and even their parents lazy. It serves good dosage of entertainment, but what makes our case even more problematic is the fact that there are many available channels on satellites that you can. It delivers sports, music, movies, news, and whatever more you will want, meaning you can spend 24 hours on your couch and not get bored.
