It is of no use stating out why you also need a laptop like everyone else. And if you are set to get one, there are some laptops you should never buy. You will come to find out that these laptops exist in almost every brand that is on the shelf right now.
A laptop to buy above everything else is one that will serve all your needs and most others that you have not even thought of. The unfortunate thing is that From HP to Dell, and other big names and many you have not heard, there are many models that are absolutely among those I will never get.
Because the models are many, here are laptops you should never get buy based on features whether you need it for professional or casual purposes:
1. A Laptop with Good Design and Less Functionality
Every company out there can actually come up with good design but not all can come up with something that has superior functionality. It’s like going for beauty over brains and trust me, it will not sustain.
What we mean by the functionality of a laptop here is that it should be able to come with various specs that can stand most things out there. No matter the brand of the laptop, if it has beauty over functionality, cross it off your list.
2. One that comes with too much Bloatware
You should not buy a laptop that comes with too many applications that comes with too much third party software installed. The problem with these laptops is that they tend to consume the limited resources on a laptop and to that end, the functionality will be less.
Lenovo has once tried producing laptops that come with bloatware but because they have seen the reaction of people to it, they were forced to stop producing them. Another bad thing with these laptops is that they can be very risky for your laptop because they are not produced by the laptop manufacturers and only get there because the manufacturers want to provide laptops that are cheaper so as to get a competitive advantage.
3. A Laptop Because of its brand
Some people may argue this, but there is no particular brand that always produces good laptops, not even Apple. Therefore another laptop you shouldn’t buy is the one that you will buy just because of the brand. In place of this, get yourself a laptop because the particular model is good.
With hardly many arguments, MacBook are among the best laptops you can get out there, but there are some of their products such as some of their MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. This is not necessarily because they are entirely bad, but because they do not offer what you pay for.
In the same line, there are some brands that are best avoided altogether, but no brand to buy all their models.
4. A laptop that is too cheap
The golden rule is not to buy a laptop that is too cheap because for it to be that cheap, there have to be many sacrifices that companies get to make. For example, they get to add bloatware because the manufacturers of the bloatware get to pay to have the software on the laptops.
More so, advanced technology doesn’t usually come too cheap, hence you will need to avoid wanting to spend too little if you really want something that is a little good. With that said, don’t get carried away with the price because it is not always that a more expensive laptop is the good one. There are some that are absolute garbage.
5. Laptops with poor memory and space
Obviously, we are now heading for the clouds thanks to big data and this means that you may not need too large space on your laptop because you will store things on the cloud and pick them whenever you want. While that is great, before we are finally there, it is important that you add to the list of the laptops you should never buy, one that has poor space and memory.
If you can forgive space, do not be conned into buying a laptop that has poor memory because right now, most software and programs are designed to need much to run them. Hence the higher the RAM, the better for your laptop. Once it has less than 4 gb RAM, I will not advise that you get it in today’s world except when you only need it for very light works and you are not a gamer.
I know that there were times that 1 gb RAM was the deal, but there were also times when computers were the size of rooms.
6. Touchscreen Laptops
This may prove to be highly debatable but I will definitely stick to my guns and avoid touchscreen laptops. Yes, they are trendy and versatile and faster since you can write with a pen, they have more disadvantages than the advantages.
These laptops are not the best to get because they are mostly heavier than their pairs and they consume more battery because they have more things to run. Also, these laptops can be very tiring to use, just as they can be very expensive to buy.
7. Taking Size for granted
If you want to get a mini-laptop, get a mini laptop, and know exactly the size you need this is because taking laptop size for granted is one thing that you don’t want to be caught doing. Consider things like how portable it is, how convenient and the ease of use as well as what you need it for.

Hence, among the laptops you should never buy are laptops whose size would later give you a problem. Medium sized laptops are always good for someone who is always on the go.
8. A Laptop that Does Not Have Warranty
Among the laptops you should never buy are those that do not come with a warranty. Any good laptop should be able to give you at least a warranty of 12 months. This is one of the main reasons why most people prefer to go with Apple laptops over most others.
You will also want to get a laptop that will offer you support in case you need any assistance. These things may seem very little, but it is the little things that separate the best from the rest.
9. A Laptop You Have Not Tried or read the reviews
No matter how beautiful the laptop looks and what it promises, it is very important you try before buying or in the least, read the reviews. I know that there are sites that only make reviews to sell, but most of such get to choose good products so as to keep you coming back to their site and to maintain trust. As such you can count on some of the reviews made as well as reviews made on Amazon and some online stores.
In addition to this, after using a laptop, it is good that you also drop a review if you buy it online so as to help others who are looking to buy the same or any other one.
