The thing with the existence of Aliens is believed by many to only be a thing that only conspiracy theorists form and share. Nevertheless, as it will turn out, scientists want you to believe that Octopuses are aliens as they are not originally from our planet.
Based on their looks, it will be fair for one to say that octopuses are definitely out of this world. In one sense you may be right, as scientists say they are so complex that they can only be explained as things that definitely don’t exist on this planet.
This was found in a work published by a group of researchers, 33 of them, who published their work in the in the journal Progress in Biophysics and Molecular Biology.
The significant thing is that this is not the first time that such claims would be made. In 2015, a study categorically noted that Octopuses are nothing short of aliens. The work was carried out with the aim of understanding the DNA structure of the cephalopod. Interestingly enough, they reached that there was no way that they could be from this planet.
Published in the science journal, Nature, the work revealed that octopuses are different from all other invertebrates because they have up to 33 thousand genes which is almost 10 thousand more than what humans have.
More surprising is the structure of their brains which almost works as that of humans, making it easy for them to learn and do some very complex thins. Considering these and many more, these scientists made of researchers from the University of Chicago and the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology in Japan insist that octopuses are aliens or something far from us.
In addition to this, they also studied the ease with which an octopus can change its skin to camouflage with its environment or anything it wants. At the end of the research, the scientists believe there is more work that still needs to be done to understand the creature.
Down to 2018, this present research work is somewhat weird in many ways as it claims that life on earth actually began from aliens, and the evolution continued with the octopus. Nevertheless, the reason why they believe that the creatures are not from the same planet as other creatures on earth is that there are so many complexities that exist with their genome.

Just as the first study, the features of octopuses such as their brain structure and even their eyes which function as good as those of humans and even better.
So how did the octopuses which are aliens get to our planet? Well, according to the researchers, they made it after their eggs were frozen and transported to us by aliens since the earliest times, and they believe that they have a prove because the realized that “the evolution from squid to octopus is compatible with a suite of genes inserted by extraterrestrial viruses,” the researchers noted.
Even though we are not in the class of those that believe that octopuses are aliens, here are some very interesting facts about them:
- They are super smart to a point that they can solve puzzles, learn things, and adapt to places. More so, they can get bored.
- Octopuses make use of available tools to solve various problems such as shells to serve as temporary homes.
- They can camouflage as easily as possible to their environment in case of any trouble or when they sense danger. In less than a second, they can change the color of their bodies to prevent from being detected.
- They have a very short lifespan with some species even living for only six months before they finally die.
- The creatures have three hearts; one large one and two smaller ones.
- No, before you ask, they are not royal even though they have blue blood, and they are not aliens. The reason behind their blue blood is as a result of the protein they have that is known as the Hemocyanin.
- With eight arms, they can either eat off the arms when they are bored or they can get it off to escape predators. The good thing is that their arms are easy to regrow.
- Many people may easily be tempted to believe that the blue-ringed octopus is harmless. Even though they look it, they are in fact, very harmful to a point that they can paralyze and kill one within minutes after they bite.
- They can squeeze into very small spaces.
