Science fiction has fed us too much robotics that we believe most of such technology are only possible in the movies. We are wrong, however, like they were when the first idea of computers came by and they said it was not possible.
Here are some robots that have already been created:
1. Roxxxy
This robot is designed to serve as sex mates. Yeah, sex mate. They are programmed for scintillating conversations about sports and other things that interest men. The Scantily clad and customizable robot is made with different sexual personalities. Soon enough, the male counterpart, Rocky, is coming out soon. What exactly this holds for intimacy in both the nearest and distant future can only be imagined.
2. Geminoid DK
The first thing that comes to your mind when you come across this geminiod is that it is a human pretending to be a robot. You would be wrong. It is in fact just a robot pretending to be human, with beard at that. The ultra-realistic androids is a creation of a Japanese firm, Kokoro, and Osaka University scientist, Hiroshi Ishiguro and Professor Henrik Scharfe. This robot has the ability to perform some involuntary actions like blinking, and it nods, breathes and perform other facial experience.
3. Robear
This is a robot which is made like a teddy bear. The thing with it, however, is that you cannot cuddle or carry it around. Rather, it is the one to lift you if you are sick on hospital bed to a wheelchair. In fact, it is a nurse that cares for you when you are sick.
4. Moley Robotic Kitchen
Set to be launched in 2017, this robot is designed for the kitchen. What the pair of arms do is to cook for you, and all you need do is select meals from an iTunes-style library. This bot can cook up to 2000 meals, following recipes it came with. How can it be controlled? Via a smartphone.
5. Kirobo Mini
Japan is facing plummeting birth rates as many couples are opting to stay childless. To combat this problem, Toyota took to developing this palm sized robot which they believe would help in making couples want to have children. The Kirobo Mini is designed to “invoke an emotional connection” as it tries to emulate a baby’s sitting position, blinks its eyes and speaks with a baby-like high-pitched voice.
6. Actriod F
This robot has frequently been mistaken for a human. I think that’s cool with it. Or her. The “sexy” robot is used as a receptionist and is capable of recognising 40000 faces, and provide answers to over 2 thousand answers. Actroid can have a conversation with humans, and as much as possible, try to be pleasant.
7. Pepper

Pepper is definitely one of the most interesting robot you may get to meet. This robot is designed to be a companion that would be fun to you. It is the first robot to recognize human behaviour and adapt its mood to that. It interacts with you in a friendly manner and recognises voices. This bot is used by Nestle in Japan to help sell its Nescafe machines. Pepper will also be able to explain Nescafé products and services and engage in conversation with consumers.
8. Tapia
Tapia is a personal robot which you can actually own. The robot is capable of doing so many thinks including waking you from sleep, reminding you of things you have forgotten, motivating you, telling you about the weather, and being a companion, and helping you connect with your family. Tapia is one of the coolest robots you can have.
9. DRC-HUBO
This is one robot that stands out among other robots. It is what you can actually call a transformer, as it can transform from a walking biped to a wheeled machine. Hubo can do different things including driving, open doors, and even push-ups. In fact, this award-winning robot can practically do almost everything.
10. Kengoro
You have heard of robots that converse, think, behave, have sex, and work like people. One thing that a robot shouldn’t do, apart from reproduce, is to sweat. Kengoro has said no to that. This Japanese robot is capable of sweating, just to keep itself cool, same as humans. The robot tries to solve one of the biggest problems of robots; overheating when they work hard. It can do press up for 11 minutes straight without burning its motors.
