Age: 60 Years Old

60-year-old Masoja Msiza is one of the central characters that helps in the show unraveling. He plays the role of King of Ndlendle and has been on the show from season 1 to the present. More on his personal life, he was born Masoja Josiah Msiza was born on October 5, 1964, in KwaThena, Gauteng, South Africa.

He started his career as a poet whose works have been showcased in poems he wrote for the South African National Football Team and Ukhozi FM. He later added acting to his many abilities acted in films like A Million Colors yet it was Uzalo that brought him to the limelight. Apart from this, he is the father of three children.

2. Thandeka King

Role: Lindiwe Mangcobo Zulu.
Age: 47 Years Old

She was born in Eshowe, KwaZulu on October 1, 1977. Prior to her acting career, Thandeka worked in the tourism industry in Durban. Thandeka eventually made her acting debut in 2012 in African Magic’s Inkaba. But her breakthrough came with her appearance in Uzalo. She appeared in the series from 2015 till March 2021 when left the show. Prior to her leaving, she is said to be the highest earner at R40 to R55 thousand per role.

Despite this being her well-known role, the Durban University of Technology graduate has appeared in other roles that have garnered her best actress awards from KZN Entertainment Awards, Dstv Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards as well as SAFTA.

The 47-year-old was married to Jabulani Msomi for 15 years before they parted ways in 2017. Apart from this, she is the mother of five children.

In 1996, she won the Vita Award for Best Performance in The Game as well as the Most Promising Newcomer for her role in Jump the Gun. More on his time on Uzalo, Mncube translated the role of a doctor who has secrets. He appeared as a regular from the 5th season till 2023 when it was revealed he would leave the series. As detective Mondli Mdlalose in Uzalo, Thembinkosi Thwala added to the plot twist. A close look at his background shows that the actor and MC was born on February 27, 1987, in KwaZulu Natal. Though he is now a recognizable face, he started out by packing goods at Checkers where he earned R2300.

Nkanyiso Makhanya started out as a child presenter and grew right in front of many who had been following his career. Born on May 23, 1993, in Durban he started his career as an intern who worked behind the cameras at the 1KZN television. The experience he gained there helped launch him as a presenter on ERV’s Craz-e in 2015. Subsequently, the 31-year-old started auditioning for Uzalo in the same year. But it was three years later that he was cast in the role of Nkululeko Xaba also referred to as Njeza, a troubled orphan who goes to jail for killing his abusive father so as to protect his loved ones.

Regarding his love life, the TV presenter, actor, and MC is alleged to be gay. While he is not the first entertainer to turn out as gay, the speculation about his sexual orientation stems from a video of him twerking in a feminine way. More on this, the role reminded her of her own experience. Nothando Ngcobo was born on June 6, 1994, in Hammardale, Mpumalanga. Though she was passionate about acting, this came with its own challenges before she could get a footing in the industry. Reportedly, she was fired from some of her earliest works or even denied roles. Nonetheless, she continued to push till she made her acting debut in Swallow Falls in 2017. He was born Cebolenkosi Mthembu. Though he is known for his role as Detective Nyawo in Uzalo, Cebo is a man of many talents. 20. Nkanyiso Mchunu

Nkanyiso Mchunu was born on July 14, 1989, in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. But he grew up in Wartburg alongside two sisters, Nelissa Mchunu and Londeka Mchunu who are also talented entertainers. She gained wide acclaim for translating the role of Nosipho, a character who is known for her controversial affairs. Ever since she joined the show in 2015, her character has brought to light some of the problems in our society one of which is the issue of Gender Based Violence.
