Just as there are so many challenges that Facebook is facing, so also there are many features that it is working on to make the platform more appealing and useful to individuals. One of such is the Your Time on Facebook.
Most recently, there has been much concern about the time that people in general and most especially youths spend on social media sites such as Facebook as well as the effect that has on them. The effect has been highly debated with most people believing that the negative effects are greater than the positives.
The feature which is yet to be released will help users to manage their time on the platform by tracking down the amount of time they spend on the platform each year. It takes a look at the amount of time you spend in seven days as well as the average time spent each day.
First hinted by Jane Manchun Wong, Your Time on Facebook will not only let you know the amount of time you spend on the platform but also help you set a daily time-limit which will help you regulate the time you spend on the platform each day. Once you set the time limit, you will get notified as soon as you hit the limit and you can easily change the notification setting.
Confirming the new feature, a spokesperson who spoke to TechCrunch revealed that the feature is meant to help people ensure that their time is well spent on Facebook. The source said: “We’re always working on new ways to help make sure people’s time on Facebook is time well spent.”
